Sponsorship is not merely a charitable donation or a temporary act of kindness; it is a covenant of continuous care, a religious and moral responsibility that preserves the dignity of a child who has lost one or both parents, and restores to them the safety they lost and the stability that gives them a renewed chance to dream of a better future.<\/p>

Allah Almighty commanded kindness toward orphans and consideration for their weakness and helplessness. He said:
\u0641\u064e\u0623\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u064a\u064e\u062a\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0642\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0631\u0652<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cSo as for the orphan \u2014 do not oppress him\u201d<\/em> [Al-Duha: 9].<\/p>

A single word in the Qur\u2019an summarizes the meaning of mercy, care, and protection \u2014 a divine call to every believer not to leave orphans alone and vulnerable.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Since the revelation of Islam, it has elevated the status of the orphan and made sponsoring them one of the greatest acts of devotion. The Prophet \ufdfa himself was an orphan, serving as an eternal example of divine care and kindness toward orphans. Allah said:
\u0623\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u062c\u0650\u062f\u0652\u0643\u064e \u064a\u064e\u062a\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064b\u0627 \u0641\u064e\u0622\u0648\u064e\u0649<\/strong>
\u201cDid He not find you an orphan and give you refuge?\u201d<\/em> [Al-Duha: 6].<\/p>

How then can we not show mercy to the orphan, when the Beloved \ufdfa himself experienced orphanhood and Allah sheltered him? And the Prophet \ufdfa said:
\u201cThe one who cares for an orphan and I will be in Paradise like this\u201d<\/strong>, and he held his index and middle fingers together (Bukhari).<\/p>

This is a great rank that can only be attained through sincere compassion \u2014 to be the companion of the Prophet \ufdfa in Paradise is the greatest reward.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Conditions for Orphan Sponsorship in Islam<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For orphan sponsorship in Islam to be a complete act of worship rewarded by Allah, it comes with principles that protect the orphan\u2019s dignity and ensure the sponsorship becomes a door to care, not harm. Among them:<\/p>

1. Sincere intention for the sake of Allah<\/h4>

Sponsorship is an act of worship meant only for Allah\u2019s pleasure. The Prophet \ufdfa said:
\u201cActions are judged by intentions, and each person shall have what they intended.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

It is not done for praise or reputation, but as a reflection of pure sincerity that blesses one\u2019s wealth and life.<\/p>

2. Not attributing the orphan to the sponsor<\/h4>

Islam forbids adoption in the Western sense \u2014 changing the child\u2019s lineage \u2014 to preserve identity and prevent lineage confusion. Allah says:
\u0627\u062f\u0652\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0644\u0650\u0622\u0628\u064e\u0627\u0626\u0650\u0647\u0650\u0645\u0652 \u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0623\u064e\u0642\u0652\u0633\u064e\u0637\u064f \u0639\u0650\u0646\u062f\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650<\/strong>
\u201cCall them by their fathers\u2019 names; that is more just with Allah\u201d<\/em> [Al-Ahzab: 5].<\/p>

Sponsorship preserves the orphan\u2019s lineage while offering love, support, and emotional parenthood.<\/p>

3. Protecting the orphan\u2019s wealth and rights<\/h4>

Allah warns:

\u201cIndeed, those who consume the wealth of orphans unjustly are consuming fire in their bellies\u201d<\/em> [An-Nisa: 10].<\/p>

The sponsor must be trustworthy and use the orphan\u2019s resources only for their benefit.<\/p>

4. Proper upbringing and comprehensive care<\/h4>

Sponsorship is not just food and clothing \u2014 it includes moral upbringing, education, and raising the child on faith, honesty, and compassion.<\/p>

5. Fairness between the orphan and one\u2019s children<\/h4>

Whoever cares for an orphan within their household must treat them with equality and kindness, so the orphan feels belonging, not charity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Every sponsored orphan means a stronger family, a more stable society, and a more merciful nation. Islam seeks not only to feed the orphan, but to ensure they feel remembered, valued, and surrounded with love and honor.<\/p>

Allah says:
\u0643\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0644 \u0644\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064f\u0643\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0645\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u064a\u064e\u062a\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e<\/strong>\u201cNo! But you do not honor the orphan\u201d<\/em> [Al-Fajr: 17].<\/p>

This verse rebukes those who neglect or mistreat orphans, reminding us that true honor lies in care and compassion \u2014 not just material giving.<\/p>
